Notes and media on items and locations

What it does

The timeline is below the cards on an item and on a location. You write notes into it. Lucrii adds entries too, such as the note a saved stock adjustment produces.

Notes use the rich-text editor found elsewhere in Lucrii. A note can mention your colleagues and carry attached files.

An item page also has a Media card above the timeline. Drop pictures and files onto it, or choose them through Add files.

Before you start

Notes on an item and on a location are for staff only. They have no public and private switch, because an item has nobody outside your organisation to send a note to.

A note can be up to 50,000 characters. Notes on a contact says how the count shows.

How to use it

  1. Write into the box at the top of the timeline.
  2. Use the paperclip to attach a file, and type an at sign to mention someone.
  3. Select Post to add it to the timeline.
  4. On an item, drop pictures onto the Media card above the timeline, or choose them through Add files.

Older notes load as you scroll to the end. You can edit or delete a note you wrote from the controls on it.

In inventory, only an item page has a Media card. Location pages have none. Item forms have none. A file from the paperclip goes on that one note, not on the item.

Troubleshooting

If Lucrii cannot load notes, the timeline says “Notes could not be loaded.” and offers Retry, as contact notes also do.

  • Adjusting stock: Check an item’s quantity at each location on its Inventory card, and raise or lower it outside an order with Adjust Stock.
  • Editing and deleting an item: Reopen an item in its form with Edit, or use More Actions to view its audit history or delete it through Trash.
  • Stock locations: Add the places you keep stock, with an address and stats for what is held at each.
  • Items and locations: Browse two lists in Inventory, one of the items you buy and sell and one of the locations you keep them in.
